How to lead is elusive to so many administrators, hence the difference between “administration” and “leadership”. A required read by my Central Michigan University cohort (studies in Educational Leadership), The Wizard and The Warrior by Bolman and Deal is perhaps the single most influential how-to-lead guide I have yet read.
The qualities of the “wizard” are especially important to the HR leader. Strategically managing human resources with learned interpersonal communication skills is more than half of the difficulty. Another great read!
